Reward Your Child For Good Grades
2021-22 "Styles For Grades" Program Info!!!
Honor and scholar roll recipients receive free or discounted services for quarterly submissions of their report cards. Students who maintain honor and/or scholar roll for all 4 quarters receive a $50 allotment at the end of the school year to use towards hair services - these are my Presidential Program participants. I also participate in back to school, homecoming, prom, graduation and other events throughout the school year. This year's back to school "Day of Service" was held over 2 days, August 27 & 28, 2019, where all appointments were for students who displayed a need to receive free haircuts and hair services for back to school. All hair, products and accessories were provided from money set aside from tips and a percentage of revenue collected from paid hair services throughout the year.
In 2012, we moved from the Hampton Roads area back to my hometown in Richmond, VA. It was a difficult transition with the move and with the change from being in a centralized salon to a full time mobile stylist. I made the decision to put the program on hold for the 2013-14 school year. The relaunch and expansion of the program for K-12 students in Richmond City, Henrico County AND Chesterfield County school districts has been such a rewarding experience but we definitely need support to keep the program going and with the overwhelming response from this school year's first event, now is the perfect time to donate!
Since I started the program in 2009, I have been using all of my tips and a small percentage of my earnings to purchase the necessary supplies for participants in the program. I started with about 60 participants in 2009 and have grown to about 681 total participants with the ending of the 2020-21 school year. Every quarter more and more students participate. Please consider donating to the program. Donations assist with hair, supplies, certificates and other miscellaneous expenses for participants in the program; as well as, participation in back to school, prom, graduation, and homecoming events. Donations can be made securely via PayPal.
Tentatively, Styles By Sheba's 7th Annual Days of Service will be held on August 30, 2022 and August 31, 2022 but will depend on the conditions of the current pandemic. Students who attend Richmond City, Henrico and Chesterfield County Public Schools are eligible to receive free or discounted hair services / haircuts for Back to School 2022! This program will be a need based program. From the bottom of my heart, I graciously thank each and every parent and student who have participated thus far. I am always happy to serve others.
The Days of Service program is a small gesture of giving back to my local community. Now is a perfect time to donate hair and supplies for the program. Sign up for our newsletter to stay up to date on the next community event.
Even though the Days of Service event is a few months away, you can always sign up to sponsor a child/children or contribute supplies for our community events held throughout the year. Make a secure donation to the Styles For Grades Program securely via PayPal. Our 7th Annual Days of Service will tentatively be held on August 30, and August 31, 2022. Sign up will begin on August 1, 2022.
Any support is greatly appreciated!
Thank you to everyone who made last year's Days of Service a success!
Styles By Sheba will host "30 Days of Giving" September 1 - 30, 2022, with a special a day throughout the month of September.
August 30, 2022 and August 31, 2022 will be reserved for our "Annual Days of Service" where select students will be gifted free or discounted haircuts and hair services for Back To School.
Our "30 Days of Giving" specials will raise funds for the Styles For Grades Program's various events throughout the year for students in Richmond, Henrico, and Chesterfield; as well as, our non-profit trade and mentoring school, The Institute of Forgiveness, which will serve youth and adults with justice involvement throughout Virginia. 100% of proceeds from the "30 Days of Giving" specials go towards the Styles for Grades Program and toward re-opening the Institute.
Donations can be made directly to The Institute of Forgiveness.
